Austin Dillon led Thursday's first round of practice for the Built Ford Tough 225 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Kentucky Speedway.

SPEED's live coverage of the race begins Friday night with qualifying at 6 p.m., followed at 7:30 p.m. with the "NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Setup."

Dillon lapped the 1.5-mile track at 172.436 mph, enough to put the No. 3 Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet atop the speed charts for the first of two sessions. Second-fast was the No. 18 Dollar General Toyota of Kyle Busch at 172.106 mph.

Busch is going for his fifth consecutive NASCAR victory across the sanctioning body's top three divisions. In nine NCWTS starts this season, the 25-year-old Las Vegas native has four race victories, two runner-up finishes and one third place. He has won the last two Truck Series races at Bristol Motor Speedway and Chicagoland Speedway.

Stacy Compton was third in the No. 60 SafeAuto Insurance Chevy, followed by Johnny Sauter's No. 13 FarmPaint.com Chevy and Mike Skinner in the No. 5 International Trucks Toyota.

The second five was Timothy Peters, Matt Crafton, Aric Almirola, Justin Lofton and James Buescher. Truck Series points leader Todd Bodine was 12th.

The 90-minute practice session was the first of two on the day. The final Happy Hour round of practice takes place from 6-7 p.m. tonight.

Friday night's race will be the 18th of 25 on the 2010 Truck Series schedule and the last of nine consecutive races for the series. Bodine has a 236-point lead over Almirola, with Sauter third, 303 points back.
