STARR: Joins SS Green Light Racing

SS Green Light Racing is pleased to announce that NASCAR Camping World Truck Series veteran David Starr has joined the team for the remainder of the 2010 schedule. Starr made 16 starts with Randy Moss Motorsports before moving to SS Green Light Racing at Chicagoland Speedway where he scored a solid tenth-place finish in his first start in the team's No. 21 Chevrolet.

Along with the driver change, the team will switch manufacturers to Toyota; the No. 21 will become the No. 81 and will bring sponsorship with him from Zachry, Chasco Constructors and Allegro Marinade.

Since 2008, San Antonio-based Zachry has worked together with fellow Texan Starr on the racetrack and even more importantly, as a spokesman on the road to more than 20,000 employees throughout the United States. David has visited more than 90% of the total Zachry workforce, helping to engage them and reinforce the company's visionary approach.

After several weeks of uncertainty, Starr is relieved to finally have his immediate future settled. "It is a big relief. I can't thank Ken Smith and Bobby Dotter enough. They took a big gamble on letting me run their backup truck last week at Chicagoland and we ended up with a really good finish. I couldn't be happier to be with them for the rest of the season," Starr said. "I'd like to thank Randy Moss Motorsports for the opportunity to drive for them this season.. The focus is now on my new opportunity with SS Green Light Racing and doing the best we can to finish the season on a high note."

At SS green Light Racing, Starr will also be reunited with his old Crew Chief Jason Miller. The pair posted four top-five and fourteen top-ten finishes together in 2009 with an average finishing place of 11.7. Miller could not be happier to be reunited with Starr. "He's a real wheelman and a genuine individual; we have a great relationship," Miller said. "I believe we can quickly pick up where we left off and contend for top-five finishes each and every week."

Starr is currently ninth in the 2010 NCWTS standings with seven top-ten finishes, including a tenth place run at Chicagoland Speedway for the SS Green Light team in their first run together. A fixture in the NCWTS for the last thirteen seasons, Starr has four victories nearly fifty top-five and more than one hundred top-ten finishes.

Ken Smith, owner of SS Green Light Racing, believes the new partnership will be highly successful, "David has been a longstanding fan favorite in the Truck Series; he has a dedicated group of followers and the support of a great company in Zachry. We have assembled a team that will only grow with David behind the wheel."
