STARR: Back In SS Green Light Entry At Kentucky

David Starr will return to the No. 81 Toyota this weekend at Kentucky Speedway with SS Green Light Racing. He scored a solid 10th-place finish last week at Chicagoland Speedway in his first start in the team's No. 21 Chevrolet.

You had a solid run last week at Chicagoland Speedway, how much of that information carries over to this week at Kentucky? "Last week the team and I made the decision very late to go race at Chicagoland, so I was in a backup truck with a seat that really didn't fit me too well. This week I will be back in a Toyota Tundra with my old crew chief Jason Miller. There won't be a lot of information that carries over from last week to this week, but the momentum from last week will. We had a lot of obstacles to overcome and we did and ended up with a really good finish. We know going in we'll have a truck that has my seat and an engine with a ton of power, so we're already ahead of where we were last week. We think we'll be very competitive."

What is the biggest challenge at Kentucky Speedway? "Just like every week, it's communication. I need to give Jason and the guys the best information I can to help make the truck better. Kentucky has a lot of bumps and character to it, so we need to make our truck get through those bumps and handle through the corners. You want to be able to hold that throttle down wide open as long as you can, and then be back on the gas as soon as you can. The team that does that the best is going to be up front."

Allegro Marinade on board with Starr at Kentucky: Allegro Marinade will be backing David Starr and SS Green Light Racing in Friday night's Built Ford Tough 225. For Starr, he's pleased that a product he and his wife Kim have used and enjoyed for years is making its debut as a sponsor in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

"It's really cool to have Allegro Marinade with us this weekend," Starr said. "If I had to cook, my family would probably starve because I am not good at it at all. But my wife Kim is a wonderful cook and we've been using Allegro Marinade for years. They are going to have a lot of people with us at the track and I can't wait to get there and put on a good show for them."

"We couldn't be any happier to be with David Starr and the No. 81 team this weekend at Kentucky," said John Fuqua, president of Allegro Marinade. "David is one of the most positive people we've ever come across and we have been proud to work with him on some projects in the past. He's a great representative of our products and our employees. We are going to have a lot of people at the race to watch him race to the front and a lot more watching the race live on television."

Starr has eight career NCWTS starts at Kentucky Speedway with two top-five finishes and six top-10 finishes. His best career finish at Kentucky is third in July 2004; he also finished fifth in July 2008. He has completed 100 percent of a possible 1,204 competition laps. His average start is 16.6 and his average finish is 8.8.
