WHITE: In Ford For Built Ford Tough 225 At Kentucky Speedway

Jason White's season of surprises in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series continues this weekend at the Kentucky Speedway. The Virginia native will make his fifth start at the track outside of Cincinnati, this time it will be in the Built Ford Tough 225 driving the ASI Limited/Akzo Nobel Ford No. 23.

Whites previous four starts at Kentucky Speedway were all in Dodges, but a rash of mechanical problems have the SS Green Light team looking for answers to gain a competitive advantage. Last week at Chicago, White drove a Chevy Silverado to an eleventh place finish and this week the team will bring a Ford to the mile and a half track in hopes of finding the right combination. White has improved with each visit to the Kentucky Speedway finishing eighteenth and fourteenth the last two seasons.

This Friday's race ends a streak of nine straight weeks of racing for the teams in the NCWTS. "It's a long grind for the guys on all the teams," White said. "It's not quite as hard on the drivers, but the guys in the shop have been working lots of hours. All that travel can wear you down. They'll get a little extra time to prepare for New Hampshire after this week."

"This is the same truck we finished seventh with back in June at Michigan. The Ford has a lot of drag so it won't qualify up front, maybe twelfth or fifteenth but it should be real good in traffic," added Jason. "I'm excited to get to Kentucky and I expect to put the ASI Limited/Akzo Nobel No.23 upfront during the race."

White moved back within four points of tenth in the standings with last weeks eleventh place finish. "We lost a lot of points a few weeks back," White explained. "We have a lot of work to do over the next eight races to make up those points and get us back up in the standings."

The Built Ford Tough 225 marks 238th consecutive NCWTS start for the SS Green Light Racing team and the 97th career start for White in the Truck series.

Thirty-eight trucks are on the preliminary entry list for the Built Ford Tough 225.

Practice for the NCWTS Built Ford Tough 225 will be Thursday, September 2nd at 4:00 p.m. with final practice 6:00 p.m. Qualifying will be Friday, September 3rd at 4:35 p.m. The race will be shown live on SPEED at 8:00 p.m. Eastern. It will also be broadcast live via radio worldwide on the Motor Racing Network (MRN) and on SIRIUS Satellite Radio NASCAR channel 128.
