Todd Bodine, who got the last shot at qualifying as NASCAR ran multi-vehicle
time trials at Chicagoland Speedway Friday afternoon, won the pole for Friday
night's EnjoyIllinois.com 225 Camping World Truck Series race.
Bodine ran 173.840 mph to edge rookie Austin Dillon, who had completed his
qualifying run seconds before Bodine took the checkered.
The pole is the seventh of Bodine's career. He leads the series points by 211
over Aric Almirola entering Friday night's race.
"I really didn't think we'd get the pole," Bodine said. "I thought we'd probably
be third. But Junior [crew chief Mike Hillman Jr.] pulled out all the stops. The
truck was right on the money lap. It was nice and free."
Completing the top five in qualifying were James Buescher, Kyle Busch and Johnny
Sauter.
SPEED's coverage of the race will begin at 8:30 p.m. (ET).
