BRISTOL PREVIEW: JAMES BUESCHER (NO. 31 VOLUNTEER CHEVROLET) VENUE: BRISTOL MOTOR SPEEDWAY (.533-MILE OVAL) CIRCUIT: NASCAR CAMPING WORLD TRUCK SERIES (RACE 16 OF 25) DATE: AUGUST 18, 2010 (200 LAPS, 106.6 MILES)
BUESCHER AT BRISTOL: James Buescher will be making his second NCWTS start at Bristol Motor Speedway. In his prior attempt, he started in the 22nd position and finished in 13th. Additionally, he has made one NNS start at the short track earlier this year, starting in 12th and finishing in 36th-place.
BUESCHER ON COMPETING AT BRISTOL: "Bristol is such a great track. If you can keep your truck clean and stay out of trouble, it's a lot of fun to race there. You definitely have to stay calm and keep your emotions in check because if you get caught up in something, it can be a really long night for the driver and the crew."
CHASSIS INFORMATION: Crew chief Michael Shelton has chosen Turner Motorsports chassis No. 5 for Buescher to run at Bristol. This particular Chevrolet last saw action at Gateway, where Buescher finished in 12th-place.
NEW PRIMARY SPONSOR FOR BRISTOL: Buescher will have Volunteer Chevrolet on the hood of his Silverado truck as he takes to the track at Bristol Motor Speedway. The dealership has been serving the Great Smokey Mountain region for 16 years.
LOOKING BACK: Buescher was one of the few NCWTS drivers who had been on-track at the historic Darlington Raceway. Throughout the evening, he fought loose conditions in his truck that went from tight to loose, then back to tight, but still managed to come with a 7th-place finish, giving him his sixth top-10 finish of the season.
THE SEASON SO FAR: In the 12 NCWTS races he's run this season, Buescher has recorded an average starting position of 7.8 and an average finishing position of 9.4. He's scored four top-five finishes and six top-10 finishes.
