MUSGRAVE: Takes On 2.5 Mile Tri-Oval

NASCAR veteran, Ted Musgrave will take to the track at Daytona International Speedway in the No. 15 Hope for Haiti Billy Ballew Motorsports Toyota Tundra NASCAR Camping World Truck Series truck for the season opening event Friday, February 12, 2010.

The 2005 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Champion sat out the 2009 series season due to funding is ready to get back behind the wheel at the World Center of Racing in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Musgrave has eight NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts posting three top-five and four top-10 finishes on the 2.5-mile superspeedway. He has competed in 18 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and two International Race of Champions (IROC) events at the aero dependent high-banked racetrack.

"Daytona - it is a gamble," Ted Musgrave said. "You can have a great truck and not win the race or a terrible truck and finish upfront. It is 75-80% dependent on who works with you and who doesn't whereas Talladega is an aero track that depends 100% on people helping you. Daytona puts a premium on the handling of the truck, making the driver more a part of equations - you have to have the right handling. To me superspeedway stuff isn't the most exciting racing and I much prefer running on the 1.5-mile tracks but Daytona is the biggest race of the year so we'll go down there kick it off and do what we have to do to end up at the front at the end of the race."

Billy Ballew Motorsports has had eight prior entries at the high-banked racetrack where the team has one-pole and two second-place finishes to their credit.

Associate sponsors Eco Clear Solutions, MagicJack.com and Bee My Bear are all lending a hand in the Hope for Haiti cause.

The NextEra Energy Resources 250 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race is slated to begin Friday, February 12, 2010 at 8:00pm. SPEED has expanded event coverage televising both practice sessions and truck series qualifying. Practice: Wednesday, February 10th at 6:00pm, Thursday, February 11th at 9:00am. Qualifying: Thursday, February 11th at 6:30pm. Race coverage begins on SPEED, MRN & Sirius Satellite Radio beginning at 7:30pm local time.
