Brendan Gaughan Wins at The Milwaukee Mile
Brendan Gaughan held off Jason Leffler by less than a second Saturday to win the GNC 200 and become the ninth consecutive different NASCAR Camping World Truck Series winner at The Milwaukee Mile. Gaughan, driving the No. 62 Orleans Hotel Dodge, passed Leffler's Team ASE Racing/ Carquest Dodge on the 147th of 200 laps and held on for the victory - his second of the season, fourth on the series and first away from Texas Motor Speedway. He took over the series championship lead by a single point over Bobby Hamilton and third-place finisher Rick Crawford. Hamilton gave up an 84 point advantage after his Square D Dodge suffered engine failure and finished 29th. Crawford's Circle Bar Motel & RV Park Ford headed Ted Musgrave and Dennis Setzer, followed by a second five of Travis Kvapil, Bud Pole starter and defending GNC 200 winner Terry Cook, Hank Parker Jr., Matt Crafton and Jon Wood. Gaughan, who won $48,560, averaged a race record 109.671 mph. Six drivers traded the lead eight times in a race slowed just once by caution for five laps.
