Musgrave Wins NCTS 200th Race at Memphis

Ted Musgrave denied Jon Wood his first NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series victory with a late pass to win Saturday's O'Reilly 200 at Memphis Motorsports Park. Musgrave overhauled Wood on the 187th of 200 lap, taking the lead in Turn 2 of the .75-mile oval after the pair's trucks touched briefly. Defending O'Reilly 200 winner Travis Kvapil nearly caught Musgrave's Mopar Performance Dodge on the final lap to trail by .115 second - a truck length - at the checkered flag. Dennis Setzer, the 2001 O'Reilly winner, came from the back of the field to take third, also in a Chevrolet. Wood was fourth, ahead of Roush Racing teammate Carl Edwards, the Raybestos Rookie-of-the-Year leader. The win was the second of the season and 12th career for Musgrave, who averaged a race record 86.097 mph. The win was particularly sweet for Ultra Motorsports owner Jimmy Smith, the only owner to have fielded a truck in all 200 series races. Smith's team has won 28 times - matching the all-time win total of Roush Racing. Bobby Hamilton, who finished seventh, holds an 84 point championship lead over Kvapil with eight of 25 races complete.
