RICK CRAWFORD AT HOMESTEAD-MIAMI SPEEDWAY The Circle Bar/International Truck and Engine team will utilize chassis CB-20 this week at Homestead. Crew chief Kevin “Cowboy” Starland recently updated this chassis and it made its 2009 season debut at Kentucky Speedway in July, finishing 17th. Since then it’s been raced at Nashville Superspeedway (7th), Chicagoland Speedway (4th), Las Vegas Motor Speedway (11th), and, most recently, Texas Motor Speedway (10th).
Crawford scored his first career Camping World Truck Series victory at Homestead in 1998, winning from the 12th starting position and leading 31 laps.
Crawford is tied for the most series starts at Homestead with 12, and has scored three top-five and seven top-10 finishes at the 1.5-mile oval.
With his 14th-place finish last weekend at Phoenix International Raceway, Crawford maintained his 10th-place standing in the driver points and is now 76 points out of eighth and 144 points out of the top five entering the season finale at HMS.
Crawford is currently second in laps completed this season (3,830 out of 3,873) and seventh in laps led (132).
In 321 career Camping World Truck Series starts, Crawford has posted 157 top-10 finishes – a mark of 49.0%.
In his truck series career, Crawford has been running at the finish of 290 races, the most of any driver in the series and a mark of 90.3%.
Crawford has logged over 55,000 miles in NASCAR Camping World Truck Series competition, the most of any driver in series history.
Crawford will make his 322nd start – extending a Series record – this weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Crawford’s impressive string of race starts began at the Walt Disney World Speedway on January 19, 1997.
Rick Crawford’s Thoughts on HMS: “Heading into Homestead, we know we have a shot at moving up a few places in the points to finish out the season. But, we also know that it’s going to be a battle. We’re taking our best Ford F-150 to Homestead, and we’re going to rub on it a little extra at the shop to make sure we give ourselves a chance to end the season on a high note for Circle Bar, International Truck & Engine and Ford. The track may have a different configuration from when I won there in 1998, but it’s a place that I know how to get around.”
