BODINE: Wants One More Win At Homestead-Miami Superspeedway

As the 2009 racing season draws to a close, the No. 30 Copart Tundra is well groomed and prepared to defend last year’s win in the 134-lap, final NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race this season. Copart Tundra driver Todd Bodine has led laps at Homestead-Miami Speedway in two of the top-three NASCAR divisions and has amassed 20 career starts at the Florida 1.5-mile circuit including two Truck Series wins (2005, 2008).

“Homestead-Miami Speedway is a special place for Germain Racing’s Copart Tundra team. We have two wins there and we clinched our championship there. I like racing at Homestead, I always have, and I’m looking forward to seeing if we can get the Copart Tundra one more win this year,” said Bodine, who last year started the final race of the year in 18th position and rose to the top of the competition to collect the win.

Bodine kicked off 2008 with his first career win at Daytona International Speedway then finished it off with the Homestead win. He won the first and last races in the final season for former Truck Series title sponsor and now official tools of NASCAR, Craftsman. Bodine backed that effort up by winning the first Camping World Truck Series race this past February, at Daytona. The stage is set for another “bookend” of wins for Germain Racing’s Copart Tundra team.

“To win at the season opener, and the season finale, that's definitely a great way to bookend the year. It was great to do it in 2008, and I certainly hope we can do it again in 2009,” said Bodine, who has 20 NASCAR career starts at Homestead.

Crew chief Mike Hillman Jr. says last year’s win was a great team effort.

“Last year’s win at Homestead was the result of great pit stops and a lot of communication with our driver to get the track position we needed and the chassis changes we needed to be able to win. We’ll look for more of the same when we get back to Florida this week,” said Hillman, who has prepared chassis TRD-124 for the Friday night race. “We’re bringing our Texas race winner to Homestead. We have had some great performances with this No. 30 Copart Tundra chassis so our team will have some extra confidence and very high expectations this weekend.”

Racing action at Homestead-Miami Speedway starts at 8:00 PM Eastern on Friday, November 20th, with qualifying earlier Friday evening at 5:00 PM Eastern. Notes on Germain Racing, Bodine at Homestead

Copart joined Germain Racing as primary sponsor for six Truck Series races in a relationship that debuted at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in May and has grown to include the final three races of 2009.
Bodine earned Copart its first win in the Truck Series in June at Texas Motor Speedway.
Bodine has had celebrations at Homestead in three of four Truck Series races at the Florida track...two Wins at Homestead-Miami Speedway (2005, 2008) and clinched the 2006 Truck Series Championship at Homestead Bodine has four Cup Series starts with a best finish of 11th (2003), 12 NNS starts with a best finish of fifth (2004) and four Truck starts for a total of 20 NASCAR career starts at Homestead.
Chassis TRD-124 is returning to the race track at Homestead. The truck has been very strong in all of its appearances in 2009, but started it’s career off with a DNF in Kentucky in 2008. The truck didn’t race again until Dover, 2009, where the chassis was extremely fast but was plagued by persistent tire woes. After showcasing its speed in Del., the truck took its first victory laps in Texas. TRD-124 has raced seven times in 2009, securing one win, one pole and has led laps in five of the seven races.
Germain Racing has won two or more races each year in the Truck Series since its first race in 2004. The team has 18 wins, seven pole awards and one Truck Series championship.
Germain Racing is currently seeking to build sponsorship relationships for the 2010 racing season.
