"We are really looking forward to racing at Texas Motor Speedway. We have a lot of confidence going into this race because we ran so well there in June. We were in a position to finish in the top-seven, but a miscalculation on fuel mileage cost us a really good finish. Over the years, Texas has been pretty good to me; we've always ran good there so I'm excited to go back. We're hoping to come out of Texas with a top-five finish or maybe even the win. As long as we're on our game, get good track position and have great pit stops, we should have a good finish tonight."
THE CREW CHIEF'S CHOICE FOR TEXAS:
Marcus Richmond, Crew Chief of the No. 60 SafeAuto Insurance Company / Wyler.com Toyota Tundra, has selected chassis number 107 for the WinStar World Casino 350. This chassis was last raced at Las Vegas Motor Speedway where it qualified 14th and finished 20th. Prior to Las Vegas, this truck ran at The Milwaukee Mile where it qualified 14th and finished 6th and at Kansas Speedway where it qualified 15th and finished 13th.
COMPTON CLAIMS SEVENTH IN TALLADEGA:
Stacy Compton made his first career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start at Talladega Superspeedway last weekend, where he drove the No. 60 SafeAuto Insurance Toyota Tundra to a seventh place finish after barely squeezing by "The Big One". Even though Compton has been racing at a professional level in the ranks of NASCAR since 1996, where he has accumulated 400 career starts, the two-time Camping World Truck Series winner had never raced a truck around 2.66-mile paved oval until last Saturday.
COMPTON'S CAREER AT TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY:
Stacy Compton has raced at Texas Motor Speedway in all three of NASCAR's top-tier divisions. Compton's best finish came in NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) competition when he finished fifth in 1998 while driving for David Hodson. Compton has seven previous starts at TMS in a Nationwide Series car with his best finish of 11th coming in 2002. Compton has also accrued three Sprint Cup Series starts in Texas, with his best finish of 15th coming in 2001.
