WIMMER: Debuts With Turner Motorsports At Texas

Turner Motorsports, LLC is pleased to announce today that the racing organization will make its NASCAR debut in two weeks at Texas Motor Speedway. Team owners Steve and Sandra Turner have tapped veteran driver Scott Wimmer to pilot the No. 31 Wolfpack Rentals Chevrolet Silverado in Turner Motorsports' first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) race.

In 1999, Turner Motorsports was established as a racing operation in Hallettsville, Texas, as the Turner family began competing at dirt tracks across the Lone Star State. With numerous wins and championships under his belt, Turner switched his attention to asphalt racing, competing in the Legends Series, ASA Late Model Series, and USARacing Pro Cup Series. Ten years later in 2009, Turner Motorsports is ready for the next on-track challenge. Currently based out of Mooresville, North Carolina the newly formed Truck Series team has been competing on a part-time basis in the USARacing Pro Cup Series with driver Logan Ruffin.

"Sandra (Turner, wife and co-owner) and I are very excited to finally make our first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start," said Steve Turner. "A lot of hard work and preparation has gone into Turner Motorsports over the last 10 years and to be able to make our debut in our home state of Texas is extra special. Racing has always been a passion of mine and one of our goals as a company is to help up-and-coming drivers become the next NASCAR stars. As we prepare for the future, Scott (Wimmer) has agreed to drive for us in Texas and we are very confident that he will do a solid job for our team."

Scott Wimmer, a Wausau, Wisconsin native, has an impressive resume thus far into his career, as the veteran has competed in over 300 NASCAR races in the top-three national series. In 2009, Wimmer has raced in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, in addition to making a lone start in both the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and the NCWTS. Wimmer's last NCWTS start came at Dover International Speedway in May, as he piloted the No. 31 Chevrolet for Win-Tron Racing to a 21st-place finish after having mechanical issues.

"It's a pleasure to drive the Wolfpack Rentals Chevrolet for the Turner's," Wimmer said. "To help an organization like Turner Motorsports in their first NASCAR start is an opportunity that I couldn't pass up. Steve and Sandra Turner are great people who have created a foundation to compete at the highest level. Texas Motor Speedway is their home track and we would like nothing more than to put on a great showing for everyone involved, including the fans."

The 23rd race of the 2009 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season will be held at Texas Motor Speedway on Friday, November 6th, as the green-flag will wave on the WinStar World Casino 350 at 9 P.M. Eastern. For more information about Scott Wimmer, please visit www.scottwimmer.com.
