HARVICK: Back To Pilot No. 2 Chevy At Loudon

RETURN TO THE TRUCK SERIES: Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) co-owner, Kevin Harvick returns behind the wheel of the No. 2 Chevrolet at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS). This will mark Harvick's third appearance in the Truck Series thus far in 2009. Currently, Harvick has an average finish of 1.5 this season in the No. 2 truck following a win at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway in the spring and a second-place finish the following week at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

In three previous Truck Series starts at NHMS, Harvick has recorded two top-10 finishes and has led 94 laps. However, Harvick has also recorded wins in the Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series at NHMS. Harvick scored a Cup Series victory in 2006 and followed with a Nationwide Series victory in 2007.

FRIENDLY WAGER: KHI co-owner Kevin Harvick and driver of the No. 4 Monster Energy Chevrolet Ricky Carmichael recently made a small wager during the Truck Series inaugural trip to Chicagoland Speedway. Whichever driver finished in the top five first in their respective series (Harvick in the Cup Series, Carmichael in the Truck Series) could buzz the other's head. For Carmichael, a trying run in Iowa produced a 13th-place finish during the first week of the bet. Harvick came out of a slump in the Cup Series at Atlanta Motor Speedway to score a second-place finish and win the bet during the first week of competition. Harvick is still contemplating when and where he will give Carmichael the buzz cut.

YOU SEEM TO HAVE GOOD RUNS ON TRACKS LIKE NEW HAMPSHIRE, WHAT CONTRIBUTES TO YOUR SUCCESS ON FLAT TRACKS?

"I've always liked the flat tracks. New Hampshire is a lot like Phoenix and I grew up racing there (Phoenix) when I was first starting out, so I feel like that my success on flat tracks has carried over to my career in NASCAR's top series."

WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO RUN THE TRUCK RACE AT NEW HAMPSHIRE?

"I like racing at New Hampshire first off. Second there are a few things that we wanted to try from the Nationwide Series race earlier in the season to close the book on some thoughts and theories of things we might want to do differently next year, plus I want to win and I think we've got a shot."



WILL EXTRA TIME ON THE TRACK HELP YOUR CUP EFFORT?

"Track time never hurts, so yes I hope that we can learn some things in the Truck race that will help our Cup car on Sunday."

CHASSIS HISTORY: The No. 2 team will bring chassis No.035, a brand-new chassis, to New Hampshire Motor Speedway for this weekend's Heluva Good! 200.

PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: The last time the No. 2 truck hit the track, Sprint Cup regular and chase contender Ryan Newman was behind the wheel at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway. Newman sat on the pole and drove the No. 2 Pringles machine to a fourth-place finish at the "World's Fastest Half-Mile." Thus far in 2009 Harvick has only climbed behind the wheel of a KHI truck twice, the first time at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway where he edged teammate Ron Hornaday for KHI's first Truck Series win of 2009. Harvick assumed driving duties of the No. 2 at Atlanta Motor Speedway where he finished a close second to Cup Series regular Kyle Busch.
