An accordion restart wreaked havoc on Brian Ickler and the No. 15 Graceway Pharmaceuticals NASCAR Camping World Truck Series team Saturday, September 12, 2009 at Gateway International Raceway during the running of the Copart 200. Despite heavy damage the rookie driver posted a 15th-place finish.
Ickler piloting the No. 15 Billy Ballew Motorsports entry in his first start at the 1.2-mile track mile track just outside of St. Louis, MO was tight during his qualifying run and started in the 22nd-place position for the 160-lap race.
From the beginning of the event, Ickler called in that the race truck was "free-off" the corners but advanced to the top-20 while coming to pit road during the caution flag periods to try to adjust the race truck. At the restart on lap 82, Ickler was gaining speed when an accordion effect of trucks occurred behind him giving the young driver nowhere else to go but into another truck causing heavy front end damage to the Graceway Pharmaceuticals Tundra.
Ickler pitted several times during the caution flag periods on the racetrack to repair heavy nose damage to the Tundra and was able to bounce back posting a 15th-place finish in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race.
The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series heads next to the New Hampshire Motor Speedway Saturday, September 19, 2009 where Aric Almirola will pilot the No. 15 Graceway Pharmaceuticals Truck for Billy Ballew Motorsports.
