Bristol Motor Speedway has gone through transitions throughout its history, but Todd Bodine's success at the track has remained constant. Bodine, a two-time winner at the famous short-track in NASCAR's second-tier series, has been a 'constant' at the front of the field, earning three second-place finishes in four NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races at the quick half-mile circuit. Bodine looks forward to steering the No. 30 Ventrilo Tundra toward more success at Bristol on Wednesday night. A win at Bristol would be Bodine's 18th victory in the Truck Series.
"Bristol suits my style. You have to be on top of the wheel every lap and have patience at the same time. You have to bide your time. I'm looking forward to Wednesday night, working to keep the Ventrilo Tundra in position to win," said Bodine.
Crew chief Mike Hillman Jr. has a cool confidence when prepping the No. 30 Ventrilo Tundra to battle at Bristol.
"We have always been strong at Bristol. I expect nothing less of the No. 30 Ventrilo Tundra on Wednesday night. Germain Racing knows what kind of truck to prepare, we work very well together at the race track, and Todd Bodine has a unique understanding of Bristol Motor Speedway," said Hillman Jr.
Bodine says Bristol's latest racing surface has begun to age. In addition to providing a great track for multiple grooves, the track is developing character.
"Bristol is starting to get a little rougher (since being resurfaced). The race track is settling, so the surface is a little rougher and it makes shocks, and the Ventrilo Tundra's setup, even a little more important than they've been," said Bodine.
Todd Bodine enters Bristol ranked fourth in the Truck Series championship standings with two wins this season. His results at Bristol statistically put him at an advantage over two of the three drivers ahead of him in the points chase. Bodine's average finish at Bristol is 7.5 compared to 17.8 and 14.3 by the top two in Truck Series points.
