SAUTER: Confident On First Truck Start At Nashville

Johnny Sauter has been close to victory at Nashville Superspeedway before, and hopes to break thru in the Toyota Tundra 200 on Saturday.

While this will be Sauter's first NCWTS start at the track, he owns a pair of 2nd place finishes in 11 Nationwide Series starts there.

"Nashville is a track where I've just always felt comfortable, feel like I adapted to it right out of the gate," he said. "It's a really cool place to race. It's interesting to me how the track seems to have evolved over the years. We used to burn the brakes up, were on them hard during a race, almost like you would at a short-track. Now, it's become more of a 'momentum' track. It's a fun place to drive, and the concrete surface definitely provides more grip. Hopefully, we can put our No. 13 Fun Sand/Rodney Atkins-Curb Records Chevy right in the thick of contention for a win on Saturday."

Sauter foresees good things for the No. 13 team. "There's a lot of racing left this season, and I'm proud of the progress this team has made," said Sauter, who owns four top-10 finishes. "We continue to get better in the pits, and that's a testament to how hard the guys are working. We've just been a bit off on our handling recently, but we're getting that squared away. There's no doubt in my mind that this team is capable of winning a race or two before the season is over, and hopefully we can get it done. We'll keep working hard, and hopefully it will pay off in strong finishes for us."
