Travis Kvapil, the 2003 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Champion, will
pilot the No. 51 Miccosukee Resort Billy Ballew Motorsports truck at Nashville
Superspeedway Saturday, August 1, 2009.
Kvapil won the 2007 Truck Series race in his last start at the 1.33-mile
superspeedway just outside Nashville, Tennessee. The current Yates Racing NASCAR
Sprint Cup Series driver has five previous Camping World Truck Series starts at
Nashville Superspeedway, posting one win, two top-five and three top-10
finishes.
Billy Ballew Motorsports has eight prior starts at the track with a best finish
of 11th-place posted in 2004 and 2005. The team will return this week with
Chassis No. 11. The truck has posted nine of the 12 career wins for Billy Ballew
Motorsports. Chassis No. 11 was last run at Michigan International Speedway by
Kyle Busch, who finished second in the event.
"I'm excited to be back in a Camping World Truck," Travis Kvapil said. "I've had
a lot of success in the Series and at Nashville where I won the last time I
raced there in a truck. I'm just glad to be back in the seat. Bristol, in March,
was the last time I've driven this year and I'm looking forward to getting back
to racing."
"Nashville is a unique, big one and one-third-mile (1 1/3) track with tight
corners. It's emphasized from the concrete surface of the track, making it hard
to grip. You need to have a good handling truck to do well at Nashville. Billy
Ballew's trucks are capable of winning every week and I'd like to leave
Nashville this week with a second guitar."
