James Buescher was consistently one of
the fastest drivers on the track in his last visit to O’Reilly Raceway
Park. You just wouldn’t have known it.
In last year’s NASCAR Nationwide Series race at ORP, Buescher suffered
from an incorrect air pressure adjustment and was forced to make an
unscheduled green flag pit stop, leading to a night of playing catch-up
that resulted in a 28th-place finish; however, his lap times equaled
those of eventual winner Kyle Busch. On Friday night, Buescher gets his
chance at redemption.
Piloting his No. 10 International MaxxForce Diesel Ford F-150, Buescher
will attempt to be just as speedy in the NASCAR Camping World Truck
Series AAA Insurance 200. It will be the first Truck Series start at
the Clermont, Indiana facility for the 19-year-old Raybestos Rookie of
the Year candidate.
Buescher is fresh off of his second career top-ten finish in the Truck
Series following an eighth-place score at Kentucky Speedway. He is
currently 15th in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series standings, 522
points out of the lead.
Watch James in the AAA Insurance 200, airing Friday night on SPEED at
7:30 pm EST. The race will also be broadcast live on local MRN Radio
affiliates and Sirius-XM Satellite Radio.
JAMES ON RACING AT O’REILLY RACEWAY PARK
How optimistic are you of having a good run in your return to O’Reilly
Raceway Park?
“Our short track program has been really good this season. I’m
hoping
everything we learned from running up front at Martinsville and
Milwaukee can carry over to ORP. I’m excited. I like this track and it
always makes for some pretty good racing. I think we’ll be able to
make
this 10 truck very fast and be able to put on a good show on Friday
night.”
In your last ORP visit, you had a very fast Nationwide Series car but
you were forced to have to make up laps after an unscheduled pit stop.
Do you feel that you learned anything that you can help you for this
weekend?
“After a while that race became a test session for me but yeah, it was
still a full race at a high level of competition. I’m expecting
another
pretty tough race this weekend but I’m going into it already
understanding the feel of the track. I’m really looking forward to
seeing if we can bring home a good finish.”
