BUESCHER: 20th After Busy Night In Memphis

As if competing for a first win in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series wasn't hard enough already, rookie James Buescher found that with a little bit of damage after being caught up in a lap 63 accident didn't make his efforts easier. Despite being involved in an accident, Buescher finished 20th Saturday night at Memphis Motorsports Park, after starting 18th.

In addition to the accident, Buescher initially fought a tight-handling International MaxxForce Diesel Ford F-150 which crew chief Jamie Jones helped alleviate on the first pit stop of the day on lap 19. Buescher was able to move through traffic, proving that after the adjustments, he had a formidable race truck.

After being caught up in the accident, the water temperature in Buescher's machine was abnormally high—his Circle Bar Racing pit crew removed several pieces of tape off the grill of the truck. Later in the race, Buescher suffered from a "sliding" condition, all the while having his crew remedy some of the damage, accrued during the accident, over the course of the race. He finished the race four laps down, in 20th-place.

Buescher gained two positions in the series standings, now 15th, 474 points behind point leader Ron Hornaday.

JAMES'S QUOTES ON MEMPHIS

Can you explain your outing this evening?

"Well it didn't come easy for us. We had a good truck—I was making my way through traffic before being caught up in that accident. After that, we just focused on getting the truck to handle better with the damage. I think this International MaxxForce team brought a really good truck to the track this weekend and we came out of here gaining some spots in the standings."
