BUESCHER: Returns To Site Of First Pole

James Buescher has a couple of reasons to be excited heading into this weekend's NASCAR Camping World Truck Series MemphisTravel.com 200.

For starters, the Raybestos Rookie of the Year candidate is fresh off of his first career top-five finish in Truck Series competition after a fifth-place score at The Milwaukee Mile last weekend. Secondly, he's headed to a track—Memphis Motorsports Park—which served as the venue for his first career NASCAR-sanctioned pole win.

In 2008, Buescher sat on the pole at Memphis during the NASCAR Nationwide Series' annual visit to the 3/4-mile oval en route to leading 24 laps on the day. With a strong finish at Milwaukee under his belt and a stout short track record for Circle Bar Racing in tow, Buescher looks to replicate that feat and then some this Saturday evening.

Buescher is currently 17th in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series standings, 382 points out of the lead.

Watch James in the MemphisTravel.com 200 presented by O'Reilly Auto Parts, airing Saturday evening on SPEED at 5:30 pm EST. The race will also be broadcast live on local MRN Radio affiliates and Sirius-XM Satellite Radio.

JAMES'S THOUGHTS ON RACING IN MEMPHIS

What do you look to accomplish this weekend in Memphis?

"I think this is another opportunity for this 10 team to get a top-five finish. I'd love to carry the momentum from Milwaukee to here. This was one of the tracks I raced on in the Nationwide Series last year and we ended up having a very fast car—putting it on the pole and leading some laps—and I think something similar can happen this weekend. Circle Bar Racing as a whole has proven that we're very good on the smaller tracks, so I'm hopeful that we continue that trend."
