IDAHO NATIVE TAKES BIG HIT IN NCWTS POINTS RACE

Brian Scott's day at Michigan International Speedway was one of those days you would like to forget, but the 21-year old NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver probably won't anytime soon. The Boise, Idaho native was once again in the wrong place at the wrong time.  James Buescher evidently cut a tire on lap 8 of the Michigan 200 and lost control of his Ford, slamming into the driver's side of Scott's No. 16 Albertsons Toyota Tundra and sending him hard into the turn four wall. The end resu lt was a completely destroyed truck and a disastrous 34th place finish, which unfortunately dropped Scott and his Xpress Motorsports team from fifth to 11th in the 2009 NCWTS points chase.

"James Buescher got loose and I was already committed to the outside of him," Scott said from the garage area at Michigan International Speedway. "He came up and hit us. We hit the outside wall pretty hard. It's really unfortunate and disheartening for our whole Albertson's Toyota Tundra crew. We've been trying to get consistent and get good finishes. It seems like bad luck keeps happening to us, not necessarily of our doing. We blew a tire at Texas and had an incident with Kyle Busch and Colin Braun at Charlotte. Just a bad day I guess - we'll have to move for ward from here."

Scott started the race in the 17th position but clearly had one of the fastest trucks early in the event, at times running lap times several tenths of a second faster than the leader. He had just climbed up to the 7th position when Buescher lost control and ended his day.

Colin Braun won the Michigan 200 at Michigan International Speedway, his first ever NCWTS victory. Kyle Busch, Brian Ickler, Matt Crafton and Mike Skinner rounded out the top five. The next race for the NCWTS competitors will be the Copart 200 at the Milwaukee Mile in Milwaukee, WI. The event is slated for Friday June 19th and will be telecast live on SPEED at 9:00pm ET. It will also be broadcast live via radio worldwide on the Motor Racing Network (MRN) and on SIRIUS Satellite Radio NASCAR channel 128.
