TEAM CHEVY SILVERADO INSIDE THE GARAGE AT TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY-DAYNE PIERANTONI, GM RACING SILVERADO PROGRAM MANAGER, NASCAR CAMPING WORLD TRUCK SERIES:
"When you look toward Texas you've got to think of Ron Hornaday. Following a frustrating weekend in Dover, I'm sure that our current points leader is ready to return to the lone star state. After leading over 180 laps and winning both Texas races in 2008 he is certainly the favorite going in. Our other Silverado teams however, haven't conceded yet. Matt Crafton and Chad McCumbee have had some great runs in Texas and are looking to walk away with the winner's cowboy hat and trophy on Friday night.
Texas is a great market for our Chevy Silverados and the local Dallas/Ft. Worth region does a great job utilizing this race as a tool to showcase our GM products. Our GM engineers have been working closely with our teams specifically for Texas. We have spent a number of days at the 7-post with several of our teams. The information gained from this testing provides our crew chiefs with a better understanding of the adjustments that they will be making on their trucks. On a high speed 1.5-mile track such as Texas is it very important to maintain all aspects overall race package. With the coil-bind setup that we are running today the crew chiefs have quite a challenge in trying to provide a comfortable and drivable setup for the driver while maintaining the attitude and aero performance of the body, the grip levels with the shock package, and then fine tuning chassis settings to maximize the tire performance. The 7-post allows the teams to work through a number of setups and adjustments and analyze the specific effects of each change.
Our teams and Gm support engineers have done their homework. Hopefully our hard work and extra hours will pay off with a third consecutive Chevrolet Silverado victory in Texas."
