COOK: 23rd Start At TMS

The 14-year NASCAR Camping World Truck Series veteran will be making his 23rd NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start at Texas Motor Speedway.

This Friday Cook will be racing a new chassis to the HT Motorsports stable, Slim Shady. Crew Chief Danny Rollins has worked with Slim Shady in the past and won four races with it the same year he won the NCWTS Championship in 2004.

In 164 speedway (one-to-two mile tracks) starts, Cook has four wins, three poles, 16 top-five and 64 top-10 finishes. He has led 514 laps in his career on this particular category of tracks.

Cajun Industries Safety Incentive Winner: Cajun Industries started a safety incentive program whereby front-line supervisors without any safety incidents are placed in a drawing each month. Out of those supervisors, a winner will be chosen to travel to the race track as an honorary Crew Chief to sit beside the team's Crew Chief Danny Rollins. This month's contest winner is Robert Lively, a 27 year employee of Cajun. He will be attending Texas Motor Speedway this weekend as his reward. Plus, his name will be displayed across the rear of the race truck in recognition of his good record.

Texas Motor Speedway: "We love our speedway package right now. This HT Motorsports Team seems to have it dialed in on the speedways. That is so comforting to know when you roll into Texas Motor Speedway that you have ran well on similar tracks, although your finishing position may not show the way the truck ran in the race. Texas is faster than most of the 1.5-mile race tracks we run on. It's wide open but so fun."

Tires: "We saw in Dover last weekend that tires were an issue and Texas Motor Speedway has been known to eat up the tires in the past. So we will be on the lookout for that this week like we always are. Goodyear is doing a great job and NASCAR is really taking a lot of tire wear into consideration for safety reasons. So we will see how this week unfolds as well."

Going for a Ride: "At Texas Motor Speedway when you enter into the corner you are wide open. You take a wide arch going into turn one and it pretty much just pushes you down into your seat. You can feel the G-forces pushing your head back it is so fast. The back straighaway gives you the momentum to carry it wide open into turn three and four. You duck to the bottom of the race track and it almost feels flat but it is not. There is a lot of grip in Texas, you just have to trust in your team and know your Tundra will stick."
