HORNADAY: Looks For 3 In A Row At TMS
TruckSeries.com Report

Hornaday and the No. 33 team will bring the truck that swept both Texas events in 2008. This same chassis went to victory lane at Lowe's Motor Speedway in May. In twelve years competing in the Truck Series, Hornaday has not won three races in a row at the same facility. If Hornaday can achieve the three-peat, he would add Texas and New Hampshire as tracks where he holds three career wins.

VEINTI BOUND: Kevin Harvick Inc.(KHI) has enjoyed success in the Truck Series throughout their eight seasons of operation. Following Hornaday's win at Charlotte in May, KHI now chases Truck Series victory number 20 heading into TMS this weekend.

Notes from the Professor: Quotes from Ron Hornaday:

WHAT ABOUT YOUR 1.5-MILE PROGRAM AT KHI MAKES YOU SO SUCCESSFUL AT TRACKS LIKE TEXAS?

"I'm not sure that we have found one thing that makes us better at the 1.5-mile tracks. Rick (Ren) and the guys have worked on our aero package and several things under the hood that have made our Chevrolet Silverado's stronger at these types of tracks."

WHAT WOULD IT MEAN TO WIN THREE IN A ROW AT TEXAS?

"It would be something I've never done before! It is always special to get a win, I really don't care where you're at. To win three races in a row at the same place shows just how dominant a team can be there. Brendan (Gaughan) won four in a row here a few years ago so I guess I would just be trying to catch him."

CHASSIS HISTORY: The No. 33 Longhorn team will bring chassis No. 024 to Texas Motor Speedway. This is the same truck that swept both Texas events in 2008. The last time chassis No. 024 was on track at Lowe's Motor Speedway in May, the No. 33 team ended up in victory lane for the first time in 2009.

PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: Last week at Dover (Del) International Speedway, Hornaday and the No. 33 team blew a right-front tire at lap 34 sending the No. 33 truck hard into the outside wall after sitting on the pole for the 200-lap event and leading 12 laps. The truck sustained severe right side damage. The team worked for 157 laps to get the No. 33 truck back out on track. Hornaday would end the race in the 26th position, but still maintained the points lead by 27 markers over Mike Skinner.
