As part of a joint venture, RAB Racing and Billy Ballew Motorsports will field the No. 09 Toyota Tundra sponsored by Zaxby's in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series North Carolina Education Lottery 200 at Lowe's Motor Speedway on May 15, 2009. The truck will be piloted by RAB Racing's Nationwide Series driver, John Wes Townley.
RAB Racing's NASCAR Nationwide Series team will also service the No. 09 Tundra with the veteran crew chief Brad Parrott calling the shots.
"It's such an honor to be running the No. 09 entry for Billy Ballew Motorsports," stated Townley. "The team has had proven success on the track. Just being associated with such a top-notch organization is an honor."
Townley, a Raybestos Rookie of the Year contender in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, has seven previous starts in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. In 2008, Townley compiled two top-20 and four top-25 finishes in the No. 09 for Roush Fenway Racing.
The 19-year-old Townley has one career start at Lowe's Motor Speedway. He finished 27th in the Nationwide Series Dollar General 300 on Oct. 10, 2008.
"Running the truck race at Lowe's Motor Speedway next weekend will be very beneficial for me and the entire RAB Racing team," continued Townley. "As a rookie, I am still learning the make-up of tracks on the circuit and getting seat time. Making laps will be very helpful when we come back the following weekend for the NASCAR Nationwide Series race."
Billy Ballew Motorsports fields two full-time NASCAR Camping World Truck Series entries: the No. 15 and 51 Toyota Tundra's. The organization has posted two wins, two top-five and five top-10 finishes at Lowe's Motor Speedway.
The North Carolina Education Lottery 200 is scheduled to start at 8:00 p.m. ET on May 15.
