SKINNER AT KANSAS: Skinner has competed in five NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races at Kansas Speedway. In those five races, the 1995 Truck Series champion has recorded four top-five finishes, as he has finished fifth the past three races at the 1.5-mile track. Skinner's lowest finish at Kansas came in his first race at the track in 2004 when he finished in the 12th position. The Daytona Beach, Florida resident has also tallied two poles in 2006 and 2007. In addition, Skinner's average starting position is 6.4 and his average finishing position is 6.2, while he has led a total of 174 laps in NCWTS competition. Also, Skinner has completed every lap of competition (838 of 838) to have a perfect 100% at the Midwest track.
CHASSIS CHOICE: This weekend, crew chief Eric Phillips and the No. 5 team will unload Randy Moss Motorsports chassis, MDM-102. This Toyota Tundra has been raced twice already this season, at Auto Club Speedway and Atlanta Motor Speedway, where the 1995 Truck Series Champion recorded 11th-place and fourth-place finishes respectively.
LOOKING GOOD: Skinner and the No. 5 RMM team have come out of the gate strong and even though it is early in the season, they are shaping up to be a contender for the NCWTS championship. Skinner currently sits fourth in the NCWTS championship point standings, just 76 points behind leader Kyle Busch (who will not be competing in this week's race at Kansas).
ROUND FIVE: Saturday's race at Kansas Speedway is the fifth race of the 2009 NCWTS season. Through the first four races, Skinner and his No. 5 Bad Boy Mowers team have earned two top-five and three top-10 finishes. The lone finish outside of the top-10 came at Auto Club Speedway where Skinner ran consistently in the top-three until tire problems occurred with less than 10 laps to go, which relegated the team to an 11th-place finish. In addition, Skinner has started every race inside the top-10, as his lowest starting position has been ninth. Skinner's average starting position is 6.8 and his average finishing position is 6.2, as he has completed every lap of competition (581 of 581).
CATCH THE ACTION: The O'Reilly Auto Parts 250 from Kansas Speedway will take the green flag Saturday, April 25th at 6 P.M. Eastern. Race coverage will be televised live on SPEED, beginning at 5:30 P.M. Eastern, and heard live on select affiliates of MRN and Sirius XM Satellite Radio.
SKINNER (On his outlook on the Championship Point Standings entering Kansas): "Well, you know it's too early for the point standings to show up on my radar screen. But, at the same time, Eric Phillips and everyone at Randy Moss Motorsports has been putting me in awfully good stuff and we have been running pretty good. They are really working hard on this effort for Kansas and I really think that we are going to run well. There again, it's awfully early to be thinking about points, but you have to be thinking about it every week, every race. We are just going to go do what we have been doing - go keep the fenders on the thing and hopefully we don't make any silly mistakes in the pits where we have to go to the back. We can just keep on digging. This is a really good race team and I'm blessed to be able to drive for them. I'm going to do the best job that I can. If it all comes down to where we run like we have every week all year, then we will definitely have a shot at them."
