SEIG: Set For Kansas Start
04-20-2009 1:26 pm
Shane Sieg heads to Kansas Speedway for
his third NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start. This will be Sieg's
second start at the 1.5-mile intermediate track in Kansas City, Kansas for
Billy Ballew Motorsports. The team has 10 prior starts at Kansas Speedway
with a best finish of ninth posted by John Andretti in 2005.
In 2008, Sieg battling three wide for position got loose while sending him
into the wall causing damage to the right side of the Toyota Tundra. Crew
chief ,Richie Wauters brought Sieg down pit road numerous times for the crew
to repair the damage to the front splitter and right side fenders. Sieg
battled back from the lap 51 incident to finish in the 18th-place position
at the end of the 167-lap race.
"I was pretty disappointed in our run last year," Sieg said" "I got a little
free going for the pass and put the truck into the wall. I hate that it
happened, but we were still able to salvage a pretty decent finish. Having
more time behind the wheel since that race last year has helped a lot.
Richie (Wauters, crew chief) and I have built a really good relationship
over the last year and I'm feeling pretty confident that we're going to have
a solid top-10 finish in Kansas."
The team continues to seek sponsorship for Sieg and the No. 15 Toyota Tundra
in order to run the full 25 race NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season.
The O'Reilly Auto Parts 250 (167 laps, 250.5 mile) NASCAR Camping World

Saturday, April 25, 2009. Live race coverage on SPEED begins at 5:30pm ET
