The Sylvania, Ohio native will be making his 13th NASCAR Camping World Series start at Auto Club Speedway this weekend. He is one of only two drivers that have competed in all of the NCWTS races at this track.
Cook has one-top five which came last year on the two-mile D-shaped oval. He has four top-10 finishes at this race track and has completed 1136 laps (2272 miles) there while leading one lap.
Cook will pilot "Timmy" this Saturday. This particular chassis ran last season in Atlanta (16th place finish), Texas (sixth place finish) and Homestead (11th place finish) with Cook as the driver.
This is one of only two races this season that are broadcast Live on FOX. The next race that will air on FOX is Martinsville, VA on March 28.
We Will Take It: "You take a top five finish whenever you can get them. Sometimes it is just finding the right package and putting all the details in place. I like racing at Auto Club Speedway and have one of the longest records of competing there. You would like to think you can go to a race track and get a top five every time, but not every driver out there can. There are so many factors beyond your control and sometimes the cards just don't play out right. Going into every race we feel as though we have the best shot at winning, and the rest of the details work themselves out as the race plays out."
We're Hungry: "I really feel good about this team. Last year they ran so well in California. I did too. So now that we are putting that combination together I truly feel as though the chances of us running in the top five again all day, or winning the race are very strong. I have so much confidence in them, and they believe in me. We are hungry this year for wins. You will see it from us, we are all confident of that."
Coming Off of a High: "We are coming off a huge high from Daytona. You know when you run well there is an old saying, 'It doesn't matter how hard you worked, how many overtime hours you put in or how far away your hotel is...if you run well that is all erased.' It is true, we are all racers and we don't come to the track to finish second, we come to win. This weekend in California we have a great shot at doing just that."
