11-11-2008 8:07 pm

* This week's race truck for Homestead-Miami Speedway is Chassis No. 5-78. Chassis No. 5-78 was last used three weeks ago at Atlanta Motor Speedway, and it carried the No. 5 team to its first win of the season at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in September.

* Close To Home. Mike Skinner will be close to home this weekend while racing at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The 51-year-old NASCAR Champion and his wife, Angie, reside three hours north of the track in Port Orange, Fla.

* Four Million Dollar Man. With his top-five finish last Friday night at the Phoenix International Raceway, Mike Skinner surpassed the four million dollar mark in career earnings. Skinner has amassed 25 wins, 46 poles, 80 top-five, and 114 top-ten finishes in only 178 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts.

* Welcome to the Team. Tayler Malsam will join the Bill Davis Racing stable this weekend in a fourth BDR Toyota Tundra entry. The 19-year-old Washington native will drive for the High Point, N.C.-based operation throughout the entire 2009 NCTS season.

* Point Battle. Championship contenders Johnny Benson and Ron Hornaday are not the only two battling for position in the Craftsman Truck Series. Skinner is in a tight battle for fourth place with Matt Crafton and Erik Darnell. The three are separated by less than 10 points.

* Listen and Watch . The Ford 200 is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. EST Friday, Nov. 14. It will broadcast live on Speed (TV), MRN (radio) and Sirius Satellite Radio (Ch. 128).

Mike Skinner on racing at Homestead-Miami Speedway:
"I am looking forward to this weekend. We had a strong race last Friday night at PIR and I am hoping we can build off that momentum for this weekend's race. We have had a strong season and I would love to cap it off with a win on Friday night. Doug Richert and the guys on this No. 5 Toyota Tundra team have been working overtime trying different things to help us in our championship run in 2009 and I am hoping it pays dividends this weekend.  "Homestead is a great track. Both the high and low grooves are fast which gives you options as a driver. It is great side by side racing and I know that Friday night will be one of the best races of the season."
