BENSON: Homestead is His Kind of Track
TruckSeries.com Report Printer Version

NOTES:

* This week's race truck for Homestead-Miami Speedway is Chassis No. 23-104. Chassis No. 23-104 took the No. 23 team to victory earlier this season at The Milwaukee Mile.

* Nice Battery. Exide Batteries will serve as the primary sponsor of the No.23 Bill Davis Racing Toyota Tundra team Friday night at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Exide has been a partner of Bill Davis Racing since the 2006 season.

* Welcome to the Team. Tayler Malsam will join the Bill Davis Racing stable this weekend in a fourth BDR Toyota Tundra entry. The 19-year-old Washington native will drive for the High Point, N.C.-based operation throughout the entire 2009 NCTS season.

* Reigning Champion. The No. 23 Exide Batteries team returns to the 1.5-mile Homestead-Miami Speedway as the reigning race champion.  The team won the season finale last season.

* Championship Battle. The No. 23 Bill Davis Racing team remains in a tight battle for the 2008 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Championship. Benson leads the No. 33 team of Ron Hornaday by only three points entering the final event of the season.

* Listen and Watch . The Ford 200 is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. EST Friday, Nov. 14. It will broadcast on SPEED (TV), MRN (radio) and Sirius Satellite Radio (Ch. 128).

Johnny Benson on racing at Homestead-Miami Speedway:  "Homestead is a pretty cool track for us. It kind of fits our style, fits the nature of Trip's style, my driving style, and everybody on the team. It's a fun, race track. I've always run good there in a Cup, Nationwide car and the trucks. It's pretty cool to go to the track knowing you've got a good opportunity to run well."

"I'm going there with the same mindset as we did in Daytona unless it needs to change during the race. If it needs to change a little, I'll deal with it then. Right now, no mindset different than every race I've ever run this season."

"The Exide Batteries team's goal is to go win the race, I think we need to do that. The goal is to try to win the race and do what we have to do to be competitive depending on where the points are going into the race and the developments during the race; we'd love to win it."
