BUSCH: Scores Second in Phoenix

Kyle Busch took to the track in the second place position piloting the No. 51 Miccosukee Resort Billy Ballew Motorsports Toyota Tundra for the running of the Casino Arizona 150 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event Friday, November 07, 2008 at the Phoenix International Raceway.

Busch, who is the defending winner of the fall 2007 race, looked to continue his quest for a win on the one-mile short track as he took the point position before the field took the first lap.  Ron Hornaday who was on the pole was on the inside of Busch, got loose and went up the track just barely missing the No. 51 Craftsman Truck.  Hornaday spun and collected several cars in the field on lap two.

Busch maintained his lead for 55-laps until fellow NASCAR Sprint Cup driver and eventual winner took the lead on lap 56.  Busch reported being loose into turn one but tight though the center of turn three and four.  When the caution flag flew on lap 63 the Billy Ballew Motorsports team called Busch down pit road for four fresh tires and fuel.  Busch who came into the pits in the second place position left with the lead after the pit crew had a flawless pit stop.

Busch restarted on lap 65 holding the lead until lap 99 when Harvick was able to get by the young driving phenom.  Busch had reported being loose when his tires started wearing out giving him the feeling of a right rear flat.  The crew readied themselves to make a green-flag pit stop but luck was on their side when the yellow flag once again flew on lap 130.  Busch gambled coming down pitroad for for four fresh tires and fuel restarting him in the 16th-place position.  Like a cannon shot Busch drove his way through the field back into the second place position when the checkered flag flew on lap 150 giving Busch a second place finish.

Busch has posted his third top-10 finish in four races at the Phoenix International Raceway and notched up his 15th top-10 in the 2008 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Season.

"It was a good race for us there," Busch said. "We had qualified second, started outside the front row and led some laps tonight which was good. I figured we'd probably have a third-place truck tonight, but we came home second. I'm absolutely ecstatic about that.

"I guess we can say a big thanks to Germain Racing for loaning us a hauler to get out here this weekend. We're going to use my hauler next weekend to get to Homestead and pretty much all the springs and shocks and radios and everything else has been melted in the trailer and are still in the trailer and we aren't going to be able to get it out. It's stuck -- useless stuff to us. Racing Radios I think loaned us some radios for the remainder of the year. There are a lot of people to give thanks --"

Busch will head with Ballew and the rest of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series drivers to the 2008 season finale at the Homestead Speedway November 14, 2008 for the running of the Ford 200.  The race is slated to begin at 8:00pm ET on the 1.5-mile racetrack.
