Phoenix International Raceway Debut: John Wes Townley will attempt to make his first career start at Phoenix Int'l Raceway this weekend in the Hefty Odor Block 200. Townely and the No. 09 team were unable to test in preparation for this event.
Phoenix Int'l Raceway Double-Duty: In addition to his duties behind the wheel of the No. 09 Zaxby's Ford Fusion, Townley will return to the seat of the No. 09 Zaxby's Ford F-150 in this weekend's NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Phoenix Int'l Raceway. Townley has 6 prior starts; Mansfield (27th), Milwaukee (18th), Kentucky (21st), Nashville (30th), Bristol (35th), and Talladega (18th). Live coverage of the Lucas Oil 150 will begin at 7:30 p.m. ET on Friday, November 7th. The race will be televised live on SPEED and broadcast on the Motor Racing Network at 8:00 p.m. ET.
2009 Announcement: RAB Racing and Zaxby's announced that they will extend their relationship through 2009 with Zaxby's serving as the primary sponsor of the No. 09 Ford Fusion in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. The 2009 season will once again feature driver, John Wes Townley as pilot of the Zaxby's Ford Fusion as he makes the step up to a full-time Nationwide schedule.
The Last Time Around-Texas: Townley and the No. 09 team attempted to make their Texas Motor Speedway debut in the O'Reilly Challenge last Friday, October 30th. After posting the 21st fastest time in final practice, Townley's lap was not fast enough to make the field after qualifying.
This Week's Zaxby's Ford at Phoenix: John Wes Townley will pilot chassis No. 025 in this weekend's NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Phoenix Int'l Raceway. This is a previous Roush Fenway Racing chassis and was run in 2008 at Memphis Motorsports Park.
