SILVERADO ON THE TRACK: 2008 SEASON TO-DATE:

The championship battle in NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCTS) is heating up as the season winds down and Team Chevy Silverado has three drivers in the top-10 point standings. Three-time and defending NCTS champion Ron Hornaday is second in the standings, 31 points down to the leader. He has five wins in '08: Kansas Speedway, Texas Motor Speedway, Memphis Motorsports Park,  Gateway International Raceway and New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Matt Crafton is fifth in points. He has one victory this season: Lowe's Motor Speedway.

Chad McCumbee is 10th in the standings.

Donny Lia captured the victory at Mansfield Motorsports Park.

Ryan Newman won in his first NCTS start at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Silverado drivers have won eight (8) of the 21 previous NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCTS)  races held at Texas Motor Speedway (TMS) . Ron Hornaday, No. 33 VFW Silverado won the Texas race in June, '08.

Cale Gale will drive the No. 2 American Commercial Lines Silverado.

RON HORNADAY, NO. 33 CAMPING WORLD SILVERADO: "Texas is a fast track. It's like Atlanta and Lowe's where you can carry a lot of speed out of the turns. I've had some good runs there and finally got my first win at Texas back in June this year. It's so awesome to win at Texas. We've always had good trucks there and to get a win, it was great. It's a great race track and the fans are great. They always make it exciting to race there. Eddie Gossage (TMS president) and his staff do a great job promoting the Truck Series races and it shows every time we race at Texas Motor Speedway. I know we have a really good truck for this race. It's been a good truck all year and we've won a couple of races with it. It's the truck we won with at Kansas and the first Texas race. Rick Ren (crew chief) and all the guys at KHI have been working really hard this year to make these Chevrolet trucks fast and they will do the same this week."

CALE GALE NO. 2 AMERICAN COMMERCIAL LINES SILVERADO: "I am pretty excited about this opportunity.  I love racing in the Truck Series, but to be honest, who wouldn't be excited about running a KHI truck this year?  Our stuff is fast every week and you know when you climb behind the wheel that you are going to be fast.  This will not be my first time behind the wheel of a truck this season. I tested for the team at Chicagoland earlier this year.  We were fast there and I think that experience will help me this week in the No. 2 truck.  My biggest challenge is driving the same truck that Ryan Newman took to Victory Lane last week, I know it is good and it's going to be fast so we should definitely be up front all night.  I think this track is similar to Charlotte where I ran the Nationwide car earlier this year.  It's a little bit different configuration but I have some experience on mile and a half tracks this season.  Our goal is to go out, run well and help Ron all we can. Practicing during the day you usually have a tight truck, but you want it that way.  As you transition into night, the track gets progressively looser but you have more overall grip.  I don't really think it changes too drastically, but the track is rather temperature-sensitive, so knowing that going in helps us make adjustments. "

MATT CRAFTON, NO. 88 MENARDS SILVERADO: ""Last week was a tough one to swallow...coming in to Atlanta third in points, and leaving after a horrible day.  You'll have days like that in racing; it's part of the game.  But the timing was awful.  There's nothing you can do except try to put it behind you and focus on this week.  Hopefully, we can make up some of the points we lost and have a strong top-5 day at Texas. I love racing at Texas...the asphalt is old, and we can run in multiple grooves.  It makes for some great two-and-three-wide racing.  It's always an exciting race for the fans and drivers alike.  We'll give it our best, and I'm confident that will translate to a strong finish for us.  We have a few races to go, and a lot can still happen, points-wise.  It seems like something dramatic happens every week in this series."

DONNY LIA, NO. 81 NATIONRIDES.COM SILVERADO: "I struggled a little bit at first, but really made gains back in June, my first time at Texas.  From the time we unloaded up until the end of the race I learned quite a bit about getting around there.  We were running ninth when we had to come down pit road to fix a hanging bumper bar, which cost us a Top-10 finish.  Obviously I'd like to go back there with our Randy Moss Motorsports/Nationrides.com Chevy Silverado and improve on my performance at Texas from June.  For us another top-10 on a 1.5-mile Speedway like Texas will be a great day.  I know that I'll have another great truck and hopefully this week I can do a better job to help Eric (Phillips, crew chief) and the guys make the right adjustments and improve on our truck even more."

T.J. BELL, NO. 7 HOME4THEHOLIDAYS.ORG SILVERADO: "I'm real excited to get back to Texas, especially with truck 001.  We got to run it last week and these guys did an unbelievable job to get it turned around.  I can't thank the guys in the shop enough for staying super late to get it turned around.  Taking the same truck is just going to make us better.  We missed it a little bit in Atlanta and I think we know what we need to do to get up there to pick up those two or three tenths to run up there in the top-five and race for a win.  It's good that we're going back to a place that we've already been.  We have a notebook built up on that so I'm pretty excited."
