The International MaxxForce Diesel team will utilize chassis CB-15 this weekend at TMS. In its race debut at Michigan in June, CB-15 finished fifth with Gaughan behind the wheel. This is also the same chassis that Gaughan drove to a 28th-place finish at Kentucky Speedway in July.
Gaughan is a four-time winner at TMS, winning four consecutive truck series races from 2002 to 2003.
Gaughan was inducted into the Texas Motorsports Hall of Fame in 2004 for his historic four consecutive victories at TMS.
Gaughan currently resides 14th in the driver point standings, 172 points out of top 10.
Gaughan's Thoughts on TMS: "Texas is a lot of fun. It's one of those big, fast mile-and-a-halfs. Texas is one of the high-speed mile-and-a-half tracks, like Charlotte and Atlanta. Those are the places that Bruton Smith has made famous for being so fast and so racy. It's always been multi-groove to me. I've always run that third lane, and last year had my truck working on the top and bottom. We finished second here last fall and I think that signaled our return to running good again at Texas.
"My first win here came because Rick Crawford let me by him during the race-back-to-the-caution days. He let me go and we got back on the lead lap and won that race, and I always appreciated him for that. Now that I drive for Mr. Mitchell and Circle Bar Racing, and we're racing in the boss' home state, I can guarantee if me or Rick win that we'll be driving down to Ozona that night to deliver the trophy. Not only do we always claim that we are a bunch of cowboys, but now I drive for a good old-fashioned Texan."
