SETZER: Banking on 'Viper' to Get to Victory Lane in Atlanta
TruckSeries.com Report Printer Version

  Discuss

The North Carolina native will be making his 13th NASCAR start at Atlanta Motor Speedway. He has four Nationwide and eight previous NCTS starts at the 1.54-mile oval. He has scored one top-five and two top-10 finishes in those trucks starts.

Setzer has scored eight consecutive top-10 starting spots in the last eight events.

Setzer will pilot "Viper" on Saturday afternoon. He drove this particular chassis to a second place finish last month at Gateway International Raceway.

The No. 18 Dodge will be showcasing the Landmark Dodge paint scheme during the E-Z-GO 200. The Landmark dealership was the outstanding sales performer selling more Dodge vehicles than all the surrounding dealerships, thus winning the prize to sponsor Setzer's No. 18 Dodge Ram at Atlanta this weekend.

Back Where I Come From: BHR's Chief Operating Officer Lori Hamilton began her NASCAR career at Atlanta Motor Speedway in 1996 as an intern in the public relations department.

First When It Counts: BHR has one victory at AMS with Bobby Hamilton Sr. in March of 2004 when he famously passed Mike Skinner who spun across the finish line.

Don't Be Scared, Get Screened: On Friday, October 24th, free Head and Neck Cancer screenings will be conducted outside the media center from 9 am until 1:30 pm for race teams and crew members by physicians, nurses and speech pathologists from Emory University Hospital. On Saturday and Sunday it will be open to the public and located outside the track from 9 a.m. until the race starts. BHR has taken an active role in promoting Head and Neck cancer since Bobby Hamilton Sr. was diagnosed and passed away in January of 2007 from complications from the disease.

Tricky Setzer: "In the garage I am not known for being a big prankster, but I do have a few tricks up my sleeve every once in a while. The best trick I have ever pulled off is on a friend of mine. We had been racing late models, and he was partying just a little bit. So I took advantage and went back to the hotel a little early. I removed the numbers from several of the hotel doors and switched them around so that he did not know which room was his. He tried to use his key to open several doors and nothing happened. The longer we let it go on the madder he got.  I had a big time watching him. The tricks are better when no one expects you are the one who is pulling it off."
