TRACK NEWS: Different Names Will Dot the Field at Martinsville

Veterans Ron Hornaday and Johnny Benson and their incredibly tight points race will be the center of attention when the green flag waves over the Kroger 200 at Martinsville Speedway on October 18, but a few new and different faces will be chasing them.

Jamie McMurray will be trying to reprise his 2004 winning run in the Kroger 200, while Kevin Harvick will be filling the seat in a truck he owns after releasing Jack Sprague following last weekend's Talladega race.

Hermie Sadler will be making his first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start since this race a year ago and Sam Hornish will be attempting to make his first truck series event.

McMurray, Harvick and Hornish are all NASCAR Sprint Cup Series regulars.

McMurray won the Kroger 200 in 2004, driving a Chevrolet, but obviously, will be in a Roush-Fenway Ford this time.

"For the last few years, I've been asking Jack (Roush) to put me in the truck for this race," said McMurray, who has a win, three top-fives and and six top10s in 24 truck series starts. "Martinsville is one of my favorite tracks on the circuit and to be able to get into the truck next weekend will be a lot of fun. The last time I was in a truck was back in 2004 at Martinsville and we won the race."

Sadler, who moved from behind the wheel to behind the microphone as an analyst for the Speed Channel, will be in action in the No. 48 Chevrolet Silverado. He will be sponsored by Total Nonstop Action Wrestling and DirecTV in a car owned by Andy Hillenburg.

Hornish, who is trying to get as much seat time possible in all divisions, will be driving a Dodge Ram prepared by BHR-VA.

Tickets for the TUMS QuikPak 500, the sixth race in the Chase For The Sprint Cup, are on sale and may be purchased by calling 877.RACE.TIX or online at www.martinsvillespeedway.com.
