Three-time and defending NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCTS) champion Ron Hornaday, Jr., No. 33 Camping World Silverado took the lead in the point standings with a second-place finish at Talladega Superspeedway.

Hornaday leads the standings by 39 points with five races remaining in the 2008 season.

Starting seventh in the field, Hornaday fought back from a pit road speeding penalty to be in the mix for the win in the 94-lap/250-mile race.

Team Chevy Silverado had four drivers in the top-10 finishers in today's race. Landon Cassill, No. 81 National Guard Silverado, finished sixth. T.J. Bell, No. 7 Home 4 the Holidays/Heathcliff's Silverado, was eighth at the checkered flag with Chad McCumbee, No. 8 Malcolmson Construction Silverado finishing in the 10th position.

Todd Bodine was the race winner with Kyle Busch, Colin Braun and Mike Wallace completed the top-five finishers.

The next NCTS race is October 18 at Martinsville Speedway.

RON HORNADAY, JR., NO. 33 CAMPING WORLD SILVERADO, QUALIFIED 7th, FINISHED 2ND: 

NOTE: HORNADAY TAKES THE LEAD IN THE NASCAR Camping World Truck Series BY 39 POINTS WITH FIVE RACES REMAINING IN THE SEASON.  "I knew we had a fast truck. We got three wide there. I've got to apologize to Mike Wallace, he pushed me to the front there and Rick Carelli (spotter) cleared me and I thought he was clear with us to go down there so I hate to leave Mike out there. He definitely pushed us. I was to thank Kevin and DeLana (Harvick), Rick Ren (crew chief), everybody on this Camping World Chevrolet. I was just awesome.

"We ran good all day and I saw Johnny (Benson) all day. We'll take it. Coming out here finishing second, that is just unbelievable. This is what this team is all about. Built a brand-new truck, to come here and do this is a lot of fun.

"I was just holding on to my truck. I seen those two get together and get sideways; I was just going for the open spot. It ended up where Todd (Bodine) got in front of me and I pushed him to the win. Awesome job for the Camping World Chevrolet. Rick Ren, all the guys. I have to thank Cale Gale, he has been sticking around these races and building shocks for us. Everybody at the shop is just doing an awesome job. This is what makes it so fun.

"Bring a brand new truck that has never been tested. Chevrolet put it in the wind tunnel with us and Mark Smith doing the motors. We will take a second. It feels like a win here at Talladega for me.

WERE YOU WORRIED AFTER YOU GOT WAY BACK IN THE FIELD AFTER THE PENALTY ON PIT ROAD? "You don't know if you can get back to the front. Nobody was moving. Rick Ren was all worried about. We got a new fandangle tach in that thing with a bunch of lights and everything and I never saw it go to red. I guess it has to go to yellow, green then red. I'm learning about it, but I don't know if that got me speeding or not. Maybe I just got excited. The truck came back through. I have to thank Mike Wallace, I left him, we will blame Rick Carelli on that one, I ain't going to take the blame on that. I told him to never leave my wingman, he cleared me and I though Mike was with us and I went down and I looked up and Mike wasn't with us. I owe Mike one; he definitely pushed to the front. Like I said, we will take second. Todd's back bumper is probably torn off that thing, he has been beat up all day long. I am glad our Camping World Chevrolet got to help push to the front."

ON THE LAST FEW LAPS OF THE RACE: "I am sure glad I wasn't sitting where Kyle (Busch) was because I know Bodine was getting anxious, he was really holding back on the last lap. I was beating his bumper off on the back straightaway. It looked like Todd had him picked up a little bit coming off of four. I was trying to get out of the wreck because it looked like they were going to wreck. Then Todd kind of straightened up and got in front of me somehow.

"I don't know how he did it. Carelli was telling me that Colin Braun was coming I didn't know if I was going to get outside but he was coming so fast that if I would done it it would have been a bigger wreck.

"This says a lot for our team. Rick Ren built a brand new truck; I had never sat in it until I got down here because when I got to the shop, it was at the wind tunnel. With all the support from Chevrolet and Mark Smith with the motors. I am just the lucky guy that gets to drive this thing, this is a lot of fun."

WERE YOU HAPPY WHERE YOU WERE AS THE RACE WOUND DOWN THINKING ABOUT POINTS? "First of all, I am going to blame Kevin Harvick because he changed my tachometer because he has got it in his Cup car this way. It has a bunch of lights on. I guess I am color blind cause it never got to red, it stayed green, so I guess we set it wrong because I left pit road and they said I was speeding. I don't know how we can do that when we were the seventh box in. We went to the back and it was like, Harvick got on the radio and told everybody to shut up and don't worry about that No. 23 truck (Benson), let's just go out and race to win this thing. Once I got to the outside, Wallace got out there and started bump-drafting then we started catching Todd and Todd jumped in front of us. Then we got to the front pretty quick. I was pretty surprised and happy with that.

"You don't know. I tell you what, my hat is off to everybody in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. You didn't see the big one, everybody drove heads-up, there were a couple of them that drove us down farther than we wanted to. But they hung on to it. It was a good show."

IS IT POSSIBLE TO NOT WORRY ABOUT WHERE BENSON IS? "I have never been a big points racer. Probably the first time I have ever said it, I just have to see where the No. 23 is and keep him in sight and worry about in Homestead. Heck, now maybe the way it is, maybe I can get a points lead and go down to Homestead and relax and fun down there. It always seems that this truck series just gets closer and closer. When I saw Johnny working the outside early in the race, it is like wow. I didn't have an opportunity to get up there because I was in line in fourth and then when we had that speeding penalty, the inside line was going and all of a sudden the outside line moved. I looked and there was nobody behind me and I was running dead last. We had something work when we made it three wide, that is when we figured it out.

"We needed the right truck out front to get the outside line move and he had the right truck to follow. It just took a couple of different trucks and once they figure it out. At the beginning of the race, you noticed how far they were staying away from each other. Then towards the middle they started getting racier and then at the end they were rubbin' and runnin' in to each other.  You have to get the side draft off of them and Colin seemed like he could a run half way down the straightaway and get next to them and pull off a little bit and have his motor pull him and whoever was pushing him. He was saying the No. 7 truck was helping him but from where I was standing, four other trucks were hitting the No. 7 truck in to him. So it wasn't just the No. 7 truck. I was really surprised at how well these bumpers lined up this weekend. Mike Wallace hit me a couple of times and Bodine hit me, Colin's hit me a couple of times. I noticed when Bodine did it to Busch, it lifted the back of his truck up and he lost it a couple of times down the back straightaway. I think Bodine noticed that toward the end and got him a little off of four and wiggled him and got to the outside of him."

JACK SPRAGUE, NO. 2 AMERICAN COMMERCIAL LINES SILVERADO, QUALIFIED 19th, FINISHED  :

NOTE: Sprague made contact with the outside wall on lap 67 resulting in damage too severe to repair. WHAT HAPPENED OUT THERE? "I have no clue. Apparently  Kyle (Busch) got under me and I didn't know he was under me. The American Commercial Lines Chevrolet was good at the start then we lost a cylinder. We have been running on there on seven cylinders trying to hang on but it is over.

"Ernie (Cope, crew chief) and the guys gave me a great truck. I don't know where we were at the beginning there at the beginning there up there on the outside, about sixth, seventh. The motor just quit, then it came back on but it kept sputtering and I was down a cylinder that put us down a lap or two.  I get up there in the middle of the draft and I could hang on, it was missing.  I don't know. I didn't get the word Kyle was under me.

"I hate it for these guys, it has been an absolutely horrible year. We had another good shot, somewhat of a chance to win but a good shot at a great finish until it started sputtering. I don't know. It is frustrating.
LANDON CASSILL, NO. 81 NATIONAL GUARD SILVERADO, QUALIFIED 25th, FINISHED 6TH:

YOU GUYS MADE A HECK OF A RALLY THERE IN THE END.  WHAT WAS THE KEY? "I don't really know.  I kind of found that neither line was going to win the race for anybody and it seemed like you could get an opening and suck through the middle and then get back in line and suck back through the middle, that is what drove me from the back to the front.  

"I definitely learned a little bit about drafting today and just really proud of this National Guard/Randy Moss Motorsports team today.  I can't thank them enough for putting me in their Chevy Silverado.  It was a lot of fun."

CHAD MCCUMBEE, NO. 8 MALCOLMSON CONSTRUCTION SILVERADO, QUALIFIED 21st, FINISHED 10TH:

YOU GUYS WERE RIGHT THERE UP FRONT TO THE END.  WHAT WAS WORKING FOR YOU AND WHAT WASN'T? "Well, this is a brand new Chevy Silverado and unfortunately we didn't get a chance to take it to the wind tunnel and chassis dyno and all that good stuff that you normally do to speedway trucks.   For not being able to do that these guys did a great job here because we had us a top-ten truck here today.

"It was terrible on the bottom and I don't know if we had some issues or what because at the start of the race it wouldn't run.  Then all the sudden it just kind of cleared itself up.  We need to go back and investigate that so it doesn't happen again.  

"I had the middle and top working real well but had trouble when were out front.  We could push somebody all the way to the lead, but we could not lead whatsoever.  Didn't matter though where we were on the bottom because we were just stuck there.  

"I felt like we had to play it safe there at the end and hopefully stay in the top-ten, so we had to stay on the bottom.  But we got what this team needs we have continuous top-tens to get back in the top-ten in points.   We just need to massage on that truck a little bit and it will be as good as our Daytona truck was at the beginning of the year."
