TOYOTA RACING: Qwik Liner 350 Preview
TruckSeries.com Report Printer Version

  Discuss

FLYING HIGH:  Before Toyota driver Benson -- the current leader in the championship point standings, climbs into his No. 23 Toyota Certified Used Vehicles Tundra and takes to the Las Vegas track at high speeds, he'll attempt another sport.   Benson will hurl through an indoor air chamber, a different feeling than leading an NCTS race in 'clean' air at a Las Vegas indoor skydiving facility on Friday (Sept. 19).  At the event, Benson will also be available for interviews to talk about his season, his quest for the NCTS championship, the Las Vegas race and his indoor skydiving experience.

A LOOK BACK AT LOUDON:  Three Tundra drivers recorded top-10 finishes in Saturday's race at the one-mile New England oval.  Benson earned his 12th top-five finish in 18 starts this season with a runner-up result to race-winner Ron Hornaday, Jr.  Busch (sixth) and David Starr (seventh) also finished in the top-10 for Toyota.   Other Tundra drivers in the field included Reutimann (13th), Skinner (15th), Musgrave (17th), Cook (18th), Bodine (19th), Jason White (21st) and Michael Annett (24th).

FOUR IN TOP-10:  Four Tundra drivers are currently in the top-10 in the NCTS championship race.  Benson still leads the standings and currently has a 74-point advantage over defending NCTS champion Hornaday.  Bodine, the 2006 NCTS champion, is fifth, followed by two-time NCTS champion Skinner (seventh) and Cook (10th).

NINE IS FINE:  To date, Tundra drivers have registered nine NCTS wins in 2008.  Benson (Milwaukee, Kentucky, Indianapolis and Nashville) and Busch (California, Atlanta and Bristol) have each won multiple races.  Tundra racers Bodine (Daytona) and Speed (Dover) each have one NCTS victory in 2008.
