09-18-2008 1:04 pm
Shane Sieg heads to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway looking for Lady Luck at the 1.5-mile race track Saturday for the running of the Quick-Liner Las Vegas 350 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event. Sieg will step back in after NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Kyle Busch's sixth place finish at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway last weekend. Sieg has three previous starts at the Speedway just off the Las Vegas strip. Sieg has one start in the NASCAR Nationwide Series and two starts in the Craftsman Truck Series with a best finish of 15th in 2003. Ballew has seven starts at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway with Shane Hmiel giving the team its first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series win in 2004. "Hopefully Lady Luck will be with us this weekend," Sieg said. "Las Vegas is a great race for the drivers, teams and especially the fans. This is an important track for Billy (Ballew) and Kyle (Busch) since it is the site of their first win and in Kyle's hometown. I know that Richie (Wauters) and this whole team have worked hard to get the truck ready for the race and I'm going to do what I can to qualify upfront and stay there all night." Billy Ballew Motorsports sits third in the 2008 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Owners Points Championship race after Busch's sixth place finish in Loudon after 18 of 25 races in the series complete. The Quick-Liner Las Vegas 350 (146 laps / 219 mile) race is slated for Saturday, September 20, 6:30pm PT (9:30 ET). The race will be broadcast live on SPEED beginning at 6:00pm PT (9:00pm ET). Radio coverage begins at 6:30pm PT (9:30 ET) on MRN and Sirius Satellite Radio. Shane Sieg will participate in an autograph session with multiple other NASCAR Camping World Truck Series drivers at the Stratosphere Hotel Friday, September 19th from 6-7:30pm CT.
