STARR'S THOUGHTS ON VEGAS: "There is no other atmosphere around a race like there is in Vegas. It is always exciting to be out there and to race. I really like what they have done at the track with all of the improvements and additions. Of course the track has a special meaning for me because it is where I won my first career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race. It is a great experience when we come out here with all of the casinos, lights and glamour. And they have done a great job in bringing that feel out to the track - sometimes you feel that the track is right in the middle of the Las Vegas strip." STARR SPORTING K&N FILTERS COLORS IN VEGAS: The No. 11 Toyota Tundra will sport a special paint scheme this week for the Qwik Liner Las Vegas 350 as it displays primary sponsorship from K&N Filters. TRD (Toyota Racing Development) recently signed K&N as the official filter company for the manufacturer. "This is an exciting program and we welcome the opportunity to support TRD and K&N Filters in their recently formed partnership," stated Tom DeLoach, team managing partner. STARR ON FIRST CAREER WIN IN 2002 AT VEGAS: David started from pole and led 28 laps on his way to his first career victory back in 2002. "Just like any other driver, that first race win has special meaning and the track it happened at. I can't think of a better and more exciting place to have that first win memory than Las Vegas. The track has gone through many changes and additions since that 2002 race and I love the facility the old way as well as the way it is today. The city of Las Vegas has so much excitement associated with it and the track does a great job in bringing that excitement out there." "Our Red Horse Racing has been on top of its game and it would be something extra special to repeat that 2002 win this weekend." STARR TO PARTICIPATE IN NASCAR AUTOGRAPH SESSION ON FRIDAY NIGHT: Along with approximately 20 other NASCAR Camping World Truck Series drivers, David will participate in an autograph session at the Stratosphere Hotel & Casino on Friday night from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. "I have really enjoyed doing this appearance the last few years and am glad that the track has gotten involved as it just gets better every year. They always do a great job of promoting this and drawing a good crowd - which is an accomplishment in itself with everything else that goes on in Vegas. I look forward to another great event." VEGAS CHASSIS: Crew chief Rick Gay has chosen chassis TRD 110 for Saturday night's Qwik Liner Las Vegas 350. This will be the third time that Starr has raced this chassis in the 2008 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season, as he raced it at Nashville Superspeedway and Kentucky Speedway with ninth and fifth place finishes respectively. "David has had some success with this particular truck and we look for another good run this week in Vegas," stated Rick. "We had the truck in the wind tunnel last week and I think we have it has good as we can get it right now." STARR AT VEGAS: This weekend will be David's ninth career Truck Series start at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. In the previous eight series starts at the 1.50-mile D-shaped oval speedway, Starr recorded his special first series win back in the 2002 event. He has earned three top-five and five top-ten finishes in those previous eight starts. He has led a total of 30 laps in those starts - with 28 of those laps coming in the 2002 winning effort. He has completed 89.7% of the laps (1072 of 1195) and has recorded one DNF. Starr's average starting position is 12.1 and his average finishing position is 11.2.
