The International MaxxForce Diesel team will utilize chassis CB-24 this weekend at NHMS. CB-24 is a new chassis for 2008 developed specifically for Gaughan's use. It was most recently driven to a sixth-place finish at ORP in July. In its race debut in Milwaukee, Gaughan drove CB-24 to a 16th-place finish. It is also one of two trucks that the team tested at Martinsville Speedway earlier this year.
In his five previous starts at NHMS, Gaughan has three lead-lap finishes and has been running at the finish in four races. Gaughan currently occupies the 14th position in the driver point standings, 95 points out of top 10.
Gaughan's Thoughts on NHMS: "Loudon is a real aggressive flat track. The old analogy is that it's two drag strips with a couple of turns at each end. It's a fun place to race. You really have to get some front grip, but you can't lose the rear grip because it's so flat that there's nothing that catches you. If you're loose you're in trouble, and if you're tight you're in trouble. You need a lot of motor to get off the corners, but I like to say, just as anywhere else, you can give me 10 horsepower more, but if I can't get through corner, you aren't going to win anything."
On New England Sports Fans: "I always like going to Loudon because I like to rile up New England sports fans because I call Boston College the Big East Turncoats. They left the Big East Conference in 2005, and all of us left in the Big East still have a sour taste in our mouth. In fact, I went up there a couple of years ago with a Georgetown truck just to kinda rub it in. I always like to mess with sports fans up there; they're passionate about their local sports teams and I can appreciate that."
