BUSCH: Aiming for Fourth Victory at NHMS
TruckSeries.com Report Printer Version

Kyle Busch steps back in the No. 51 Miccosukee Resort NOS Sports Energy Drink Toyota Tundra this week looking to add another type of track to his 2008 NCTS win list.  Busch has posted one win on a short track (Bristol) , one win on a 1.5 mile (Atlanta Motor Speedway) and one win on a 2-mile race track (Auto Club Speedway, Fontana) in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

This week he will set his sights on a victory on the 1-mile flat track at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, NH in a brand new truck for Billy Ballew Motorsports. Chassis 26 will make its debut in Loudon.  Shane Sieg, the Billy Ballew Motorsports relief driver for Busch made the first laps in the Tundra in Richmond at a Craftsman Truck Series test.

"The truck was super fast," Sieg said.  "We worked on what the Loudon set-up would be for Kyle (Busch) and I think it should be pretty stout right off the truck."

This will mark Busch's fourth start at NHMS for Ballew with a best finish of third in 2006.  Last year Busch led 46 laps but on lap 88 Busch and another competitor just touched getting Busch into the wall.  Despite the splitter damage Busch came back and was running in the top-5 but misfortune would strike again when Busch broke loose in the corner sending him in a spin ending the team's day early.

"It was a tough break for us last year," Busch said.  "I got run in the fence earlier in the race and broke the splitter off, and we still ran up there in the top-five, but I guess it just wasn't really meant to be. But, we are back and hopefully bring home another win for Billy Ballew."

Busch continues to mount up records in all the three NASCAR Premier Touring Series including the Craftsman Truck Series where he ranks first in season Driver Rating at 117.5 despite only competing in 11 of the 17 events to date.  He ranks 3rd in number of fastest laps recorded this season.  He has 293 vs. 361 for current NCTS 2008 points' leader Ron Hornaday.

At the New Hampshire Motor Speedway Busch is first in passing differential according to the NASCAR Loop Data statistics with a score of 62.  That number is found by subtracting the number of green flag passes versus the number of times the driver is passed under the green flag.  Busch's driver rating at NHMS is 7th best and he is fourth among the lap leaders with 51 laps led in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series events.

The Camping World RV Rental 200 is slated to begin Saturday, September 13th at 3:00pm ET at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway.  SPEED will broadcast Keystone Light Pole Qualifying Saturday at 10:00am with race coverage beginning at 2:30pm ET.  Radio broadcast will begin at 2:45 on MRN & Sirius Satellite Radio.

The Kyle Busch Foundation is running a promotion with a 51 dollar donation to the foundation the donor receives Sparky a replica of his own West Highland white terrier's.  Visit www.KyleBuschFoundation.org for more information on how the Kyle Busch Foundation helps children in many communities.
