It was a week of perseverance for Jeff Green, and, at times, it seemed as if the hits just kept coming. Jeff Green pulled a double header for Key Motorsports at Bristol Motor Speedway in both the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and Nationwide Series. A series of misfortune, however, disposed disappointing finishes for both races with Green finishing 27th in the O'Reilly Auto Parts 200 and 28th in the Food City 250.
For Green, his third career start in the Craftsman Truck Series was an eventful one for certain. A mid-race tangle with Jimmie Johnson, a pair of penalties, as well as a flat tire were a few of the causes for the 27th place showing. And a late race tangle with Joey Logano with ten laps to go, aided in the 28th place finish for the #31 Key Motorsports Chevrolet.
"We definitely did not have the week we were preparing for, that is for certain," states Green. "But then again it is Bristol, so you never know what you get."
"I am grateful for the opportunity to have driven for Key Motorsports in these past few races, and I know we all have learned a lot from each other. I definitely hope they can take what they learned and apply it to continue its growth."
"Yeah, it was Bristol so you have to brace yourself for anything," says Crew Chief Lance Hooper. "Even with all that we had to go through all week, I am proud of my guys and Jeff for the effort that was put it."
"We are definitely growing week by week."
This week will serve as another off week for the team, as they take this time to prepare for competition at Gateway International Speedway.
