SKINNER: Winning Nashville Guitar High on List
TruckSeries.com Report Printer Version

  Discuss

• This week's race truck for the event at Nashville Superspeedway is Chassis No. 5-118. Chassis No. 5-118 is the same truck Mike Skinner drove to a seventh-place finish at Kentucky Speedway three weeks ago.
• Calling the Shots… Interim crew chief Joe Lax will sit on top of the pit box again this week. Lax most recently guided rookie Michael Annett to two wins and four top-10 finishes in five ARCA RE/MAX Series starts.
• Tested and Approved… Skinner and the No. 5 Toyota Tundra team were in Chicago last Wednesday testing their Tundra in preparation for Saturday night's event. The team worked on a number of front end geometry settings, trying to find a combination which would help them at the 1.33-mile D-shaped speedway in Tennessee.
• Autographs Anyone? Skinner will join his two Bill Davis Racing teammates, Johnny Benson and Michael Annett, Saturday, Aug. 9, in an autograph session at Nashville Superspeedway. The trio will greet fans from noon to 1 p.m. at the Craftsman Mobile Marketing Unit, located in the display area on the frontstretch.
• Top-10 Result… Skinner and the No.5 team have accumulated more top-10 finishes than any other team in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series garage. The Toyota Tundra team has 12 top-10 finishes, with 10 of those finishes coming in the last 10 races.
• 1,400th Start… When Dave Blaney took the green flag last weekend in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Pocono (Pa.) Speedway, it marked Bill Davis Racing's 1,400th NASCAR start. The High Point, N.C., operation has accumulated 37 wins, 172 top-five finishes, 363 top-10 finishes and 66 pole positions in NASCAR's three premier divisions.
• Listen and watch … The Toyota Tundra 200 scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. EST Saturday, Aug. 9. It will broadcast on SPEED (TV), MRN (radio) and Sirius Satellite Radio (Ch. 128).

Mike Skinner on Racing at Nashville Superspeedway:
"I'm excited about Nashville for several reasons. I think Nashville is an awesome facility, and I enjoy racing there. Toyota Tundra is the official truck of the speedway, and Toyota is sponsoring the race. That gives us Tundra guys extra incentive to perform well. Also, I love guitars, and they give you a Gibson guitar if you win. I think that's pretty cool.
