STREMME: Brushing Up On Guitar Skills for Nashville
TruckSeries.com Report Printer Version

  Discuss

Nashville Superspeedway is the site of Stremme's first-career NASCAR Nationwide Series start (April 2003).

Stremme's best finish at Nashville Superspeedway is second (June 2008, NASCAR Nationwide Series).

The Toyota Tundra 200 will mark Stremme's second-career NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start. His first-career start in Truck Series competition was at Martinsville Speedway in April 2006.

Stremme has one pole, two top-fives and five top-10 finishes in Nationwide Series competition at Nashville Superspeedway.

Stremme is also scheduled to race the No. 15 Ergon Racing Tundra in the O'Reilly 200 at Bristol Motor Speedway.

A special decal will adorn the #15 truck this weekend. Seventeen year-old Chris Jackson, a friend of truck chief J.R. Norris, was recently paralyzed in an accident. The decal reads "Chris Jackson, In Our Prayers" as a reminder that he is in the hearts of everyone on the Ergon race team.

Stremme Comments on Nashville Superspeedway: "I'm really excited about taking the wheel of the Ergon Racing Tundra. This is a great opportunity.  Billy Ballew Motorsports has great equipment and great people.  I love racing at Nashville and have had some of my best races there, so all the elements are there for us to have a good day.

"I made my first start in the Nationwide Series at Nashville. That's where it all began for my NASCAR career, and now I'll be making my first Truck Series start there. I've actually had one other Truck Series start, but it was a deal thrown together at the last minute and we really weren't ready to
race, so I think of Nashville as my first real Truck Series start.

"The concrete surface at Nashville is pretty consistent.  As the temperature changes, it doesn't affect the track like it would at an asphalt venue. That's nice because it allows you to focus more on the truck's handling and not worry as much about how the track will change. As more rubber gets laid down during the race, you'll probably see the groove start to move up the track.  You will have to make some adjustments on the truck to accommodate for that.  The surface is a lot smoother than Bristol (Motor Speedway) and Dover (International Raceway).  It doesn't disrupt the handling as much. The track has pretty good grip and relatively low banking. It's a good race track, and I think the fans are in for a good show.

"One of the coolest things about Nashville is the trophy.  They give away a guitar in Victory Lane.  It's decked out in Sam Bass graphics. It's one of those trophies that every driver wants to have up in their display case.  I'm hoping this race will give me a reason to brush up on my guitar skills."
