Sean Murphy started 31st and ended 27th driving the #07 ASILIMTED Chevy at O'Reilly Raceway Park on Friday night. It was far from the results that Murphy and the SS Green Light Racing team had hoped for after finishing 9th on their last short track race at Mansfield Motor Sport Park. Early on in the race Murphy's truck was underpowered. He made a long stop on pit road to investigate the possible engine trouble. When he returned to the track he was 2-laps down. Murphy fought a tight and poor handling race truck throughout the night. He maintained enough speed to hold onto the 27th place finish and keep the truck clear of the many late race wrecks.
"We were down on power early in the race, but despite the engine trouble we really missed the setup this weekend," said Murphy. "The truck was really tight and there just wasn't much I could do with it. It's disappointing because we felt this would be a strong race for us."
"I was just rolling around out there to collect points, which is frustrating as a driver when you can't really get into the race," added Murphy. "I know this SS-Green Light crew works really hard to get these trucks prepped and set up good. We hit it right at Mansfield finishing in the top ten, but just missed something here."
Sean Murphy will turn his focus back to the ASA Late Model Series on August 9th for the second annual Crate American 200 at Bristol Motor Speedway. Murphy will be back in the #07 NASCAR Truck August 20th for another race at Bristol.
