After qualifying 14th for Friday night's 200-lap NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at O'Reilly Raceway Park in Indianapolis, Todd Bodine quickly moved the Lumber Liquidators Tundra into the top-five. The time spent in the top-five was too short, however. Bodine's no. 30 Lumber Liquidators Tundra suffered short-track damage at lap 189 and was relegated to a 22nd place finish.
"The truck really didn't drive too bad after we were involved in that incident at lap 189, but we had to pit for tires and to get the sheet metal to keep from rubbing the tire. The Lumber Liquidators Tundra had been loose getting into the corners and tight through the middle throughout the night, but the pit crew pulled of two fantastic four-tire stops with adjustments and it made a difference," said Bodine.
Bodine felt confident his Germain Racing Tundra was a top-ten truck before the late-race accident.
"Our tires had about 20 laps more than the guys running from about fourth or fifth back, so we were struggling to stay with the top-five. I would say we could have finished sixth or seventh in the Lumber Liquidators Tundra if we didn't need the tires following that accident," said Bodine.
Bodine remains sixth in the Truck Series driver's points standings. Next up for the Lumber Liquidators driver and crew is a weekend off then racing action at Nashville.
