Ted Musgrave has seven career NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series starts at O'Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis but he is still looking for his first career top-five at the 0.686-mile oval. He and the HT Motorsports team will prepare for Friday night's race with a full day of testing at South Boston Speedway in Virginia.

How difficult is racing at ORP? Do you have to change your mindset to run up near the wall when every other track we run on you want to be right on the white line on the bottom? "It's not too hard to make that adjustment. The truck takes you where it wants to run at a place like ORP. What makes it difficult is that it can be pretty hard to pass because the trucks really tighten up when you try to turn them to the bottom. That's what we'll spend our time working on in practice is getting the truck to turn to the bottom because that's where you'll be making your passes."

Places like Martinsville and Mansfield have their own strategy - you pit early and hope to hold on to track position. Is ORP the same? "No not at all. You can make your way to the front if you have a good truck here. You don't want to be running 35th at ORP, but if drop back outside the top ten after a pit stop you can race your way back into the top five. ORP is slick and that means the guys that stay out on older tires are going to be sliding around quite a bit. You aren't going to want to make one stop early and then stay out the rest of the way because your tires won't let you."

How are you going to prepare for ORP? "We're going to spend a full day testing at South Boston. I won a race back there when the Trucks raced there several years ago. It's a tough little short track and it has some common characteristics with ORP. We'll work on getting our truck to turn and we'll make sure that when we come off the hauler that everything is good and we're right where we want to be. We did some testing before Kentucky and we were back to being competitive there. That's all you can ask for as a driver, to have a competitive truck. We'd like to give everyone at Team ASE and Harris Trucking a good solid run at ORP and get back into the top ten where we belong."

Ted's ORP Numbers: Ted has seven career starts at ORP and has two top ten finishes, with a best of sixth in 2003. He also finished eighth in 2006. His average start is 7.9 and his average finish is 14.9. He has completed 1,391 of 1,401 possible competition laps.

This Week's Truck: During Friday night's Power Stroke Diesel 200, Ted will be driving chassis No. 11. Ted has raced this truck previously this season at Martinsville Speedway where he finished 15th, Mansfield Motorsports Park where he finished 17th, and most recently at The Milwaukee Mile where he finished in 19th position.
