COMPTON: Aero Goes Out the Door at ORP
TruckSeries.com Report Printer Version

The Virginia native will be making his 10th NASCAR start at O'Reilly Raceway Park this weekend. He has five Nationwide starts and four NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts to his credit. He has scored one top-five and one top-10 finish in those four NCTS starts.

The No. 4 Dodge will be showcasing the Wabash Valley Chrysler Dodge paint scheme Friday night. The Wabash Valley Chrysler Dodge dealership was the outstanding sales performer selling more Dodge vehicles than all the surrounding dealerships, thus winning the prize to sponsor Compton's No. 4 Dodge Ram this weekend.

Compton will pilot "Timmy" this weekend at Indy. He had driven this particular chassis at Memphis Motorsports Park last month and scored a top-10 finish.

BHR Flash Back: Bobby Hamilton Racing has two victories( 2000 and 2004) and two poles (2000 and 2001) at ORP. In 2004 Chad Chaffin drove to victory over Johnny Sauter to score his second win of the season. Joe Ruttman scored his second of three victories in 2000 by winning at Indy after starting from the pole. He followed up with another pole at this particular track in 2001.

No Right Side Needed at Indy for Compton: "One of my favorite memories about racing at ORP is the 2003 Nationwide race. I qualified 14th and was involved in a wreck right off the bat. It was within the first 10 laps or so. The entire right side of my car was missing. We all thought it looked like I would have to pull behind the wall. However, the roll cage was still intact despite the fact the sheet metal was completely gone. The engine was still running fine and I headed back onto the track. I was furious and was ready to take my frustration out on something. I channeled that frustration to come back through the field to finish third that night. One of the best things about Indy is you can race without a side, front bumper or even a rear bumper. I have seen trucks look like they need to go to the salvage yard after a race at ORP. It's just good short track racing were areo goes out the door."
